October 20, 2016
The Americas “Discover” Convention was held last week at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City with over 3,000 attendees.
The Product Experience store drew crowds with stations to learn about ageLOC Me, Pure Lift, ageLOC Youth, Epoch Essential Oils, Nu Colour K-Beauty, digital initiatives and of course, a photo op section. Attendees were particularly excited about ageLOC Me. The package was so popular that it sold out by Saturday morning.
On Thursday, female guests attend the famous Woman to Woman luncheon led by Ruth Todd and featured messages from select sales leaders, as well as Sandie Tillotson, and Scott Schwerdt. The Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Maria Victoria Giordano from Argentina during the luncheon. Later that evening, attendees participated in cultural night celebrations for Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and Latinos.
Nu Skin founders Sandie Tillotson, Blake Roney and Steve Lund spoke during Friday’s general session about building a business on integrity and working with good people. They emphasized the principle of building your life around helping others to bring true success.
Scott Schwerdt, one of Nu Skin’s most loyal and committed employees, announced his retirement and intention to become a Nu Skin ambassador. He was given a hero send-off complete with sales leader and employee messages, as well as an impressive gift from Nu Skin founders - a brand new Tesla.
The Friday afternoon product session was led by Greg Darlington and featured messages from Joe Chang, Jared Warburton and Kathy Schultz. Joe spoke on ageLOC Me and upcoming product innovations, Jared covered other upcoming product launches as well as product sharing, while Kathy discussed social media best practices, including a sales leader panel.
During the Saturday morning session, keynote speaker Susan O’Malley entertained the crowd with stories from her over 25-year career working in sports management as well as seven ‘rules’ for leadership and life. A trailblazer for women in this industry, O’Malley was the first female president of a professional sports franchise.
Ryan Napierski spoke on the gig economy and how Nu Skin will take advantage of the business opportunities available through digital advances and social media. He reiterated Nu Skin’s goal to create over 300,000 aspiring entrepreneurs by 2025, as well as our commitment to continually innovate - both in our products and business opportunity.
Tyler Whitehead, the newly appointed President of the Americas Region, spoke on the vibrancy of the Nu Skin business and how we will focus on providing the right products at the right price for the right markets. He also discussed why Nu Skin is a good fit for both sales leaders and consumers – from those who are just getting started to our top leaders.
On Saturday afternoon, attendees participated in leader-led breakout sessions covering everything from social media to the building the business with ageLOC Me.
Convention attendees also took part in black-tie recognition and entertainment led by Sales Management Matt Hall, Don Lovelace and Chieh Hansen on both Friday and Saturday nights. These included talented dance and aerial stunt teams. The event was capped off Saturday night with a concert from dance/pop/rock band WALK THE MOON.
